My girlfriend recently built her first computer- and had an issue where when she boots up the computer- and spams the DEL button to access BIOS- she hears a single beep (I believe signifying that the computer is going into the BIOS menu). However, the screen continues to stay blank. Computer seems to be running fine (No warning beeps, fans running, lights on case, lights on for usb connected Mouse and keyboard).

We have checked the VGA input and everything looks correct (Plugged into the motherboard on the back end of the CPU and monitor).

I can provide more information on the parts if necessary but I was wondering if this issue sounds familiar to anyone and if it could be related to hardware in any way.

To me this sounds like a monitor issue but we tried pretty much everything.

Any help is appreciated. (This will probably end up being something dumb).

Thanks,

The single beep is normal and means the PC is booting okay. It doesn't mean its going into the BIOS.
Time to test each bit - try swapping the VGA cable, then using a standalone graphics card. Test the monitor & cable on another PC.
