I was overclocking my i5-3570k on a cool day when the ambient temps were about 22 and now its hotter around 28. I only get crashes, errors when the ambient temperatures are higher.

More about : higher ambient temperatures instability

obviously yes is the short answer. even if your cpu is staying in the under 80c range, ambient temps can affect the other electronics on your motherboard, the power supply, and even the incoming voltage at the wall plug.

Closed internal case temperature is always hotter than the ambient room temperature, if you desire to be in a cooler performance zone with your overclock, get yourself a better CPU cooling solution.

Did i mention anything about my cpu overheating? No, because I know 65C is safe.
