Hi,

So I am trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 trial, but It keeps giving me this '25004' error, stating I have previously had a trial installed on the machine, I have deleted related registry entries, and old remaining directories, did a clean up with CCleaner, but it constantly says it and I don't know to to get around it.

As anyone had this problem before or know of a solution besides reformatting? I would like to avoid a reformat if possible, just to save time and for convenience.

If anyone knows, please post, it's getting very annoying :p

Go here for a free and compatible alternative to MS Office 2010 (and it doesn't expire...):

http://www.openoffice.org/download/

BTW, if you used MSO 2010 Trial previously and agreed to the terms of service limiting the time of use, you should not ask us to help you violate that agreement.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hey, don't get up me, you're just jumping to conclusions, as I never said I did use it, I am just messing with an old family laptop out of storage, and I can't confirm whether or not it ever did have it, I mean, I guess it's safe it say it never had 2010 version, since It's been locked away for couple of years.

But I can't see why it keeps saying I can't use 2010 on it though.

Oh and thanks for your understanding

The laptop probably came with MSO 2010 (trial) pre-installed, as many laptops came (and come) from the factory. In fact, installation files may be stored in a recovery partition that could be used to restore the system to its "out of the box/factory" condition. Just something to consider...
