My son switched off the screen

Hi there,
My two year old son was watching something for babies on you tube and did something on my laptop. The screen is now black but the computer runs.
I have windows 8. I am sute it will be simple problem but not for me : (. Please kindly help me.

I'd say it's one of the function buttons on the top row. Most laptops have function key to enable switching the display off. Just have a good look at the F keys, and see if one has a monitor type icon on it. Hold 'FN' key whilst pressing the corresponding icon, and it should re-appear.

probably hit something to send signal to external monitor, read the manual to see how to switch it back.

See if he did something like switch to an external display. There should be a function key combination that will toggle among the included screen, external display, and both. Try that first.
