New router is not playing well with smartphone - advice?

I recently purchased a new "better" router (Linksys EA4500). With my old router my smart phone (Razr Maxx) had no problems staying connected to my home wifi. However, I now have periods of time throughout the day where I have no network connection. I find myself having to disable and reenable the wifi on my phone and then all is fine again for a while. So far this does not appear to be a problem with the other devices that are connected to my home wifi, just the smart phone. Any advice on why this might be happening, and how to possibly resolve this issue? (I checked the settings on my phone and it's set for wifi to remain on even when the phone sleeps, so this is not the problem.)

you could check if there is a firmware update for the router which may help fix the problem.

i would also grab inssider and install it on a laptop and check what channels the local wireless networks are on and change yours to a less congested channel incase it is interference with the new router using a different channel as the antennae on the smartphone will be much smaller than any other device so will be the most affected.

Thanks - there are no router firmware updates, I have checked. The router is set on automatic, which supposedly automatically finds the best channel. Also, we live in a relatively rural area so I wouldn't think congestion is much of an issue. Should I still check/change the channel just in case? Thanks again.
