Hi Guys,

I am using a phone connection internet and have a RJ11 Router (ADSL Line)

The range is not good enough with that ADSL router (RJ11) that i get my network range all over my house. So i have a spare Dlink 150 Home router (RJ 45).

I am planning to bridge it so that i can you one internet line with 2 routers.

Is it possible to use (RJ11) router and bridge it with a (RJ45) router.

Pls Help me with his.

Thanks,
Adrian

If you put the first device in bridge mode you cannot use the wireless on it...well you can but it won't work as you want it to.

What you really want to do is leave the first router in router mode. Cable the second router to the first lan to lan and disable DHCP on the second. This makes the second router act as a AP. If it has the option to run as a AP you can follow the directions in the manual.

This of course does nothing to extend the range of your wireless if you put both routers on the same table.
Unclear what you are asking. You have no choice but to leave the ADSL based router attached to the internet as it comes into the house your other router does not contain a modem.

If your goal is to just the the first router as a modem only yes you can configure it as a bridge and then cable a lan port to the wan port of your other router.

Just doing this will not likely increase your network range unless the first router is defective.

Now if your plan is to use the second router as a AP and run a ethernet cable to a different part of your house to increase your wireless coverage that plan is the recommended way to increase wireless.

Sorry if I confused you.
I try to make is crisp and clear as much as I can.

I am using a phone internet and i have two wifi modem. One is my primary which has a RJ 11 socket for the Internet and the other which is a spare on which is a Dlink 150 home router has a RJ 45 cat5 wire connection for Internet. Both the wifi routers are in perfect working condition.

I want to use both the routers so that I can increase the range.
So can I bridge my primary RJ 11 wifi with the cat5 dlink router and use both with one Internet connection. Is that possible to bridge.

i would like to add info, which is also my problem.

i have two wireless router, both with rj11 internet socket.
router 1 will be plug in the internet in my ground floor house, so internet is no problem here.

router 2 planning to install in 2nd floor, to increase my range, but how to connect to internet.
first, can i set it up thru wireless, connecting router 2 to router 1 so i can have internet access on 2nd floor.
second, cannot use a cable, because router 1 has rj45 lan, while router 2 in order to have internet must connect thru rj11. or do we have a cable where rj45 on one end, while the other end is rj11.

hope you could also help.

thanks.
