So my friends GPU died recently and I had my old Radeon HD 4830 laying around so I gave it to him til he can afford a new card..on BF3 on all low settings after about an hour and a half the card hits 93C and stays around 88c-93c. The card is old so I imagine BF3 is pushing it to its limit but is 93C a dangerous temp for this card ? Ive had it hit 90C before but never went above that.

4800 series ran hot with stock cooling. those are around the same temps i had before i outfitted my pair with VF1000 coolers from zalman. Try to find a cheap GFX cooler and GPY will drop
