I'm looking to upgrade my GPU in preparation for BF4 and the inevitable GTAV (and the elusive DayZ...)

Currently I have a i7 2600K and an MSi GTX 570 in an Asus P8 Z68-V Pro board.

The board's manual states that it is PCI 2.0, whereas the the GPU I'd like to upgrade to (GTX 770) says it is PCI 3.0. I take it that I will need a new board, yeah?

If I do need a new board, are there any recommended 1155 socket ones with PCI 3.0? I'm struggling to find them, probably because the CPU is two years old...

Thanks!

The bandwidth available to PCIe 2.0 x16 hasn't really been overcome by any available graphics card.

I recall seeing some tests Tom's did and it showed zero or 1-3% percent reductions with the fastest cards between 1.1 and 2.0 and 3.0. I would call that nearly within the margin of error.

Awesome, cheers!

Would my experience with the new GPU suffer, similar to how using a USB 3.0 flash drive in a USB 2.0 socket would limit the transfer rate?
