data lost from hard disk

can anybody hack the pc and cut paste the data within few seconds............... when i open hard disk all folders are there ........then suddenly personal photo folder ...............gone away ....some folders are still there and working fine ............Is there any chance of hacking ................internet was on at that time.............

Unfortunately that is not hacking, that is your daughter's computer getting infected by a virus, which then grants the malicious individual backdoor access to the computer. Call it what you will, but I suppose the best answer would simply be "depends on the situation, but not enough information is available in the asked quesiton to determine the cause of the missing pictures".

There are virus infections that enable the hidden attribute on files and folders so it looks like they have disappeared but are actually still there just hidden. A quick way to check is to boot a Linux CD and try to look at your files.

actually my hard disk is having 150 gb data but after that now only 12 gb data available in hard disk ....................how i recovery that 138 gb data and where it gone .....................
