A friend of mine gave me a gateway profile 4 all in one desktop computer. It was given to her by someone and she had never used it so knows nothing about it. I am pretty sure not all of the parts in it are the original default ones seeing as it has a 475 gig hard drive and 1.5g of ram now. Anyway, I did a clean install of windows xp and updated to sp3. Got most of the drivers installed and everything is fine except for the audio. In everest it says under the multimedia/ audio adapter part that I have "Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3]". I looked this up and downloaded the driver for it and it forces my pc into a restart at the same point in the installation everytime. Thank you for your time hopefully there is an easy fix for this problem.
