  • I hope that is enough information to help me out. I am willing to spend up to 250.00 for a graphics card that will play the games that I have: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Sinfullysweet/games/?tab=all (that shows what kind of games I play, sorry there is so many. Just want to be able to play the high end games seamlessly)

I appreciate and value any help because I am completely lost as to what to look for.

    Thank you,

Right, I forgot about the new PSU. Anyways the card I chose is more expensive, but is a much faster than the 7850. If it's too pricey go with Seladon's choice or a 7870.

If I have to buy a new PSU, will definitely need the total under $250 for all. Have to convince husband that it is worth it and it is a deal. (He plays on console, where I play on PC so he doesn't understand the need for upgrades)

Bookmarking all these so that I can price shop and compare! (If anyone can find good ones at Tiger direct, that would be awesome, since I live near one)

And thank you for linking a hardware comparison chart!! That helps tremendously.

Edit: Also, would it be more beneficial to upgrade the PSU to 750 instead of 600?

Will there be a conflict since the one you linked is a PCIE 3.0 instead of PCIE 2.1?

Yes, 750W would be great for future upgrades, and there won't be a conflict because PCIE3.0 can fit in the PCIE2.1 mobo :).

Awesome, that is what I was worried about. The slots on this mobo is so funky it is unreal. Have only one PCIE 16bit, and two additional PCIE 1bit.

Updating the original post. Opened up my case and found out the mother board was wrong, so was the video card in it, and so was the power supply. *groans* Last time I trust programs to tell me what my hardware is....

Just updated it. Grabbed the model numbers and vendors. Those are exactly what is in the pc. Why it is registering (even with AMD) as 5750 I have no clue.

But everything I listed now was per the stickers on the actual items. (Just to make double sure I am about to pull out the video card and double check it) Something isn't adding up, sticker says 6750 but computer says 5750

Thanks, still disturbing that the computer is registering a huge downgrade from what I actually have. Just put the card back in, about to upload pic and information I pulled.

I agree so much. My husband bought the computer as a christmas gift for me and he isn't computer savvy. But I am not complaining, he tried =) I have always dreamed of building my own pc. But for the time being all I can do is upgrade everything I can as I get the money =)

One last question, I noticed there are many versions of the video cards.

For example:
~MSI
~Sapphire
~XFX
~Gigabyte
~Visiontec

What is the difference in quality of manufacturers? Or does that play a part?

Thanks, anything to save money and help convince my husband that I really need this would be great.
