Intel Core i7 920 C0 @ 21?200 4200MHz 1.38v
Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9
2x HD6950 2GB unlocked to HD6970 2GB

VS

16 gb ram @ 1600mhz
i7 4800mq @3.7Ghz
dual gtx 780m sli (http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1759&gid2=1582&compare=geforce-gtx-780m-sli-vs-geforce-gtx-titan)

Solution
4.2Ghz i7 920 is still pretty high in the CPU charts. Would almost certainly be faster then the Haswell mobile i7.

A pair of 6970 (6990) is quite a lot of GPU horsepower. Tom's chart puts a 6990 only one 'tier' below the Titan, which is on it's own tier anyway. with the 7990 and GTX690 at the top.

A pair of 780m would have reduced clocks as compared to their desktop counterparts, the 600 series and 760 and 770. And would be slower.

All said and done I would still go for the desktop, but the laptop would be plenty for some serious gaming at 1080p, as long as it is plugged in anyway.

No i don't, my point is read before jumping to conclusions
i just said that i know how powerful the dual gtx 780m in sli is
but i have no idea of how the other gpu is
or how one processor runs compared to the other

it wasnt an answer, it was a question.
