Hello I just moved and got internet setup and cannot get my desktop to connect to my wireless network. My laptop and iphone both connect. The desktop will say the settings on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. Its quite frustrating. I have tried removing the wireless card and re-installing it and deleting the network- when I do that and try to connect to the network again it says my security key is incorrect- it can't be since my other devices connected with it. I am not too tech savvy by the way. And I don't really want to get a 100 ft ethernet cord. Any suggestions?

Solution
Any further information from Windows on why the "settings for this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"? Have you selected the right wireless network to connect to? Did you previously assign an address information to your desktop's wireless network port, such as IP address or DNS server? You don't say what operating system you're running, but assuming it is Windows 7, if you open up "Network and Sharing Center", click on "Change Adapter Settings", then right-click on Properties of your wireless network adapter, then click on "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)", then click the Properties button, and makes sure you are set to "Obtain an IP address automatically", and "Obtain DNS server address...
