I just built a computer and have it all wired up properly. I even used a troubleshooting checklist I found on this site. When I push the power button on my case, the LEDs flash for a second and he CPU fan and one or two of the case fans will move about a quarter turn but nothing else happens afterwards. Again, I've checked my wiring and ensured that all cables and wires are plugged in as far as they go. I removed my CPU to triple check that I had it on properly. Could this issue possibly be due to the PSU? i'm certain that I have enough wattage to support all components in my system. its a 850w PSU. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It very well could be the PSU... try swapping in a known working one.

Last couple of times a home built computer was brought to me with those symptoms, the person who built it (14-16 year old kids) forgot to put in the motherboard standoffs. If you got the standoffs, then look for anything else that can cause a short. that's what your symptoms sound like. if the PSU was bad you probably would not have been able to get any response from the power button at all.

what brand is your PSU? i hope it's a not some POS that was included with a plastic case.

I figured out the issue. I just had to replace the 4 pin power cable into the motherboard. I guess that one had a short. Now I'm in UEFI BIOS and am experiencing new issues but I'll be researching that more. Thank you all for your help and suggestions.

I am having kind of the same problem, the led light flashes and the power box fan twitches and that is it. I am using the standoffs. If you could help that would be great.
