Trying to rebuild a PC. Bought FoxxConn G33MD05 on eBay from reputable dealer. Installed it with Core 2 Quad Q6600 and known good P/ and hard drive. PC would not boot, as in - nothing happened when power switch was pushed.

Checked P/S still good. Checked momentary switch - working correctly. Removed all components, disconnected all cables except 24 and 4 pin power connectors and front panel power connec tor.

Same result - nothing. No POST, no beeps, no lights, no fans - completely and totally dead.

Put CPU in working homebuilt with Intell DP865LT mobo. Both LGA775 boards, both capable of running Core 2 Duo (the original CPU in the homebuilt) and Core 2 Quad - or so I thought. More on that shorty.

Tried to power up - same reults as system being rebuilt. Namely, absolutely nothing happened.

So, replaced Core 2 Duo CPU in DP965LT mobo and guess what? The homebuilt that has run consistently for 8-10 years now does not boot. PS is good, momentary switch is good, but front and rear fans do not run only the CPU fan and the P/ fan. No POST, no beeps. Removed all components, cables, RAM, etc. as above with rebuild. Same results - CPU fan and P/S fan run nothing else happens.

After a little further research I found that the DP965LT only supports Core 2 Quad CPUs with revision 207 and later. My board is revision 205.

I am now PC-less and not a happy camper.

Any suggestions, thoughts, information, tests? All constructive input will be appreciated.
