No, there is no driver support at all. Win95 will not support anynew hardware niether will win98 or ME. To run 95 you would have to run it as a virtual pc which would require another operating system.

You'll probably have some drivers issues, plus this :

Quote:
Windows 95 fails to boot on computers with approximately more than 480 MB of memory.

Yes you can though being limited to 2gb partitions, it would be better off just running it from a usb flash drive. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/46707-ms-dos-boota... I'm not sure if this method would work for the 6.22 files (use fat16 not 32) but they provide a link to get 7.1.

Though you could get linux and have full hardware support. It's free.

It's easy, if it is not a "too" new PC! I've installed Win 95B on a Dell Dimension L933r a while back, using the full capacity of the 30GB HD. I used PCI cards that had the Win 95 drivers rather than the on-board stuff. The only problem was installing the RealTec network card adapter drivers, though I eventually got it to work. I had 250 Ram and it worked perfectly! Never Give up on this, if it is Your Will to have a very fast Windows 95 PC.

Hello K1114.

True enough! Yet there are, probably up until 2007 or so, some that would work with 9x systems. There are still a few motherboards made today, that are 9x compliant. My main 95 PC, is a 1995 Dell optiplex, so I guess the L933r (which I do not consider a "great" machine) seems new-ish-when compared to that. I personally, would not choose any current models for a 9x machine. I would go with finding a Dell Optiplex GX110 (which was good)--and use the on-board stuff, since 9x drivers can be located. If one can find an old PC with ISA slots, then an NE2000 compatible network card is definitely the way to go since it works right out of the box! It is amazing to see Win 95 with 250 ram, and internet explorer removed with IEradicator...fast, fast , fast. A number of years ago, Big Lots used to sell many games that still worked with 95...and I made it a point to buy a bunch. That is what I mainly use 95 for! Doom especially!

Unless you're running Windows 95 in a virtual machine, it won't work on newer computers. It has virtually no driver support for hardware made after 2006. Even Windows 2000 will have trouble running on modern hardware. You're certainly not going to be able to run Windows 95 on the latest Core i7 or GeForce GTX system.
