Early problems with a new build

Hey I recently purchased a new build, here is the component list:
- 4670k
- MSI z87-g45 gaming
- Gigabyte 760 OC
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance PRO
-1TB Caviar Black
- Corsair 700W 2013 Gaming Edition
- Noctua NH-D14

I decided to do a test external build. Everything went (relatively considering it's my first build) well. I came to turn it on and... Nothing on screen. After 10 seconds it turned off again and turned back on and stayed like that until I turned it off.

I tried:
-a different cable to the monitor
- removing the video card and using integrated graphics
- replugging the power connections to the main motherboard and the cpu
- removing one ram stick and running in single channel.

I'm not sure what else I can do. Am I starting to think about defective components?

Have 8 pin EPS cable plugged in next to CPU ?

CPU fan plugged into CPU fan header on MoBo ?

Did ya use monitor OSD to check that correct input source is selected ?

Yes yes and I don't need to, it only has 1 input.
Everything turns on. Gpu fan, cpu fan, various motherboard lights - they all come on. Just it reboots after about 10 seconds (after the first reboot it stays on) and there's nothing on the screen (the screen works I used it today).
