So I'm gonna be going computer shopping soon as I feel I need some upgrades and I'm just wondering what kind of graphics cards my motherboard can support. Like how big/powerful my Motherboard/system can support before I run into compatibility issues.

Right now I have a:

- Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80 GHz
- Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
- Antec 550w PSU
- 8gb of G.Skill DDR3-160 RAM
- Windows 7 (32-bit)

Right now I'm thinking of getting a ASUS GTX 650 ti boost 2gb:http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

But I'm wondering If I can go bigger, and if I can, what should/do I need to buy to support it?

yea your mobo can handle any graphic card. It your psu that's the limiting factor. That being said, you can easily run a 660ti which is much faster than a 650ti. (660ti needs 450Wmin as per NVidia).

I wouldn't go higher than that unless you upgrade your psu as well.

Being an antec psu, it should be a good psu though I'd want to make sure with the model number. But a 650ti boost will be no issue at all. You can most likely go up to a 770 on that psu.

You should really get 64 bit to use all 8gb of your ram.

That's awesome to know! I've been thinking about upgrading to 64-bit and i've found a deal for an OEM version for like 76$ But i'm unsure because of so called compatibility issues that can arise with a 64-bit OS

there really aren't issues with 64bit OSes since after windows xp. Only a few super specialized softwares may not work with 64bit.

any new computer anyone buys comes with 64bit OS

Unless the software was made during windows xp or older than you can have issues but then just run it in xp mode. 16 bit software won't work natively unless you run it xp mode or dosbox. So really you can run anything.
