Just received my CX600 PSU today from Newegg. The package was thrown over the tall fence, since I live in a condo, and into my backyard. The PSU seems to work fine, currently have it on my old PC until I order my parts sometime tomorrow. Just wondering if I should keep it or get it replaced from the Corsair distribution facility 30 minutes away from my house.

There should not be any knocking around inside the delivery truck unless the truck rolls over or has another serious accident. However, in the sorting facility the packages are often manhandled by people and they can get tossed around a bit. That treatment is expected and is not necessarily unusual. However, shippers generally do their best to discourage any excessive tossing or banging around of packages. Also, with the advent of automation the number of times that people have to handle packages during sorting is somewhat reduced. Many years ago I worked at a UPS facility and, believe me, excessive mishandling of packages was strongly discouraged and repeated offenses could result in getting fired.

Since it is working in your current computer, chances are good that it was not damaged so you are probably OK.

That said, I would suggest that you get in contact with the shipper and COMPLAIN LOUDLY. It is one thing for a package to get bumped around a bit in a sorting facility during shipping. However, any shipper who would throw a package over a tall fence has no right to claim that it knows anything about customer service. Call, complain, talk to management and keep going above their head until you find someone who is willing to knock some heads around.

I called them about it and told them that it was thrown over my fence, I didnt file a complaint YET but if this happens again, especially with my CPU then I'm going to be pissed off. OnTrac did make a note to knock on the door instead of throwing it in the backyard next time. I would say that the fence was about 6 feet tall, plus I was in the living room and could have heard them knocking....

Also, during transit, wouldn't the packages be knocking around and falling off in the truck. I've never been inside of a delivery truck but I assume that some knocking around happens inside of it, especially inside of an airplane.
