I am having a problem with my internet connection dropping when downloading large files. I noticed it started when downloading games from Steam and it happens even when I am downloading updates to a MMO games when the files are large. It still shows that there is a connect to the router but webpages will not come up and if I disconnect from the network and try to reconnect, it will not connect. I have to power cycle the router in order to get it to work.
I wanted to test and see if it was the router, so I had my girlfriend download a large file from her laptop and everything goes smooth and there are no disconnects with the internet.
I have tried:
-Calling my ISP and they said everything is fine on their end.
-Limiting my download speed
-Disabling IPv6
-Disabled -side scrolling
-Disabled ICS
[strike]Nothing has worked so far. Please anyone that can help me with my problem that would be great. Also could it be an issue with Windows 7 Ultimate build 7600? I think I read somewhere it was.[/strike]
