Just built my first computer. Everything has gone smoothly except the driver install for my graphics card. In the device manager there is an ! for PCI Simple Communications Controller. This is after I installed the lasted driver from AMD website. The driver is Catalyst Software Suite 13.4. Everything installs fine, but when I go to run 3D Mark11 for a performance test, 3D Mark11 tells me below. Can someone help me out to trouble shoot this problem?

Driver: Catalyst Software Suite 13.4
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
GPU: Powercolor HD7970
3D Mark11 error message: Workload Single init returned error message: DXGI call IDXGISwapChain::SetFullscreenState failed:

The requested functionality is not supported by the device or the driver.

DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE

Solution
PCI Simple Communications Controller driver is usually something that is included with your chipset drivers. Did you install all the chipset drivers that came on your motherboard's driver CD. If you didn't, then you should, while Windows 7/8 are fairly good about picking up generic drivers on their own, there are some devices on the motherboard that it won't automatically assign a generic driver for, and you'll need to provide a driver from either the support CD or from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

to fix the problem is simple i solved it by inserting the motherboard dvd into the drive, and goto device manger right mouse click
on the pci express communications manager ( with the yellow question mark by it ) and click update driver, then click on manually
find drivers, then click on the cd/dvd drive with the drivers cd in it, and click next, this will automatically find the missing drivers you need
and install them , this can take a minute or two, hope this solves your problem.
