Hello,

Unfortunately the PSU in my old system died yesterday. Now I'm looking to buy a new one.

These are the specs:

GPU: Sapphire HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
MEM: 6GB DDR2 RAM
MB: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R
HDD: Samsung SpinPoint HD642JJ
Other: Samsung DVD Drive

I did some research and find out that the GPU requires at least 500W. So I had a look at the:

- Corsair CX500 (is there any difference between v1 and v2?)
- Seasonic M12II 520W
- XFX Pro 550W

What would would be my best pick or what would you suggest me?

Thanks very much!

Solution

Probably the last one, certainly if it's a modular one. It builds a lot easier.

Thanks for your reply. So can I conclude that they do not differ much? and go for the one with the lowest price?

Yup, all about the same. I believe the Seasonic is modular (to less cablemess), but that's about all the difference. Corsair and XFX being about the same price, I would pick the XFX. But if Corsair is cheaper where you live, by al means go for that one.

Be sure to pick a Best Solution to mark the thread as solved.

Sure, 1 last thing. Based on these prices in my area what would you pick?
Corsair: 52 euro's
XFX: 59 euro's
Seasonic: 61 euro's

Thanks.
