Question about video card with artifacts

Hello guys, I have a one simple question about a video card with artifacts which support PhsyX, let's say 8800GTS/GTX or 9800GTX/GTX+. If the GPU displays only black screen or it has artifacts, is it going to to work properly for a Dedicated PhsyX card? As far as I know the PhsyX is something like a processor and it's not integrated into the GPU chipset or is it? I just want to use it as a Dedicated PhsyX card, nothing else.

It might work OK but I would suspect that it could also cause issues if its VRAM has been fried already, in short there probably no point.

What is your primary card?

ASUS GTX 470, Stock at the moment.

That should be able to handle things on its own, what PhysX games are you having issues with or are you just wanting to mess about with stuff?

Messing with stuff for the fun of it is a good thing and if its cheap then even better!!

I would still be wary of using cards that artifact on their own though.
