im in the process of building a new gaming rig for myself before i graduate and go off to college. my question is can my psu handle a 7950, i will leave the link of my psu and the 7950 i wish to get. Also if i am unable to go with this graphics card is there any recommendations you could share for around the same price. it would be much appreciated. :)

the psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182199

the graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414

My rig:
1 AMD 8350 4.0 ghz
1 Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 motherboard
2 Gskill sniper series sdram (2 x 4gb)
1 Western digital 5400rpm 500GB Hdd (but plan on getting two 1TB 5400rpm HDD)

Solution

ok so i double check and i made a mistake it is a 7200 rpm HDD thanks for the reminder though :). Also i do not plan on doing any OC of my cpu but i may do a slight OC on the 7950 its self. will i still be alright if i get this card along with...

couple of things.

firstly your HDD is a 5400 rpm desktop. You should change that for a 7200 rpm standard. Much better performance and loading times. the 5400rpm is laptop speed.

secondly, although your PSU although 530 watts is over the requirement for the card, if you plan on any overclocking of your CPU, you will be cutting it close, as the AMD chips consume a lot more wattage if overclocking.

Asides from the the 7950 is a nice card, and should be a good balanced match with your 8350.

well in theory you will be okay. For me personally Id rather have a 100w extra breathing room as opposed to being right on the line. Don't know much about Rosewill, but its' 80+ certified, so I'm sure power delivery is okay. With just a slight OC on the GPU (providing there's not much voltage increase) you should still be fine.

above is a list of manufacturers. the one you picked is the only manufacturer I do not know and they only seem to be okay by customer reviews
