Recently my FX8120 temps. have been way too high.

Temperatures on idle fluctuate from 35 to 45C.
Temperatures on a standard non intensive game(GTA San Andreas(2001)) reach climb to 60 in a matter of minutes. A bit after that it keeps rising.
Note: Max Rated Temp. by AMD is 61C
I had a similar problem last year with my stock cooler, temps. were much lower that year though. I bought a Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 11 that year, been working fine throughout the year and the problem started again recently. I suspect the thermal paste is the issue, not sure.

Thing is, I used to have idle temps of 17 to 22C before, now its like 45C, I thought it was due to Summer Temps., now the temps. here is much lower, so that ain't the issue, I suspect it is the thermal paste, I got some mx paste, which I will try applying soon. Any other suggestions, I already cleaned out the case.

I would say update your thermal paste like aatje92 said. I would recommend something like BeQuiet's DC-1 thermal paste or Antec's formula 7 nano diamond paste. Make sure you clear the current paste off with 99% Isopropyl fluid, found in most PC hardware stores e.g. Newegg.

I have Isoprophyl Alcohol and I believe I have to clean thermal paste off both cooler and CPU using the alcohol and tissue and then I use a Q Tip to clean off the small thermal paste bits and then use a clean cloth to remove the tissue residues/particles. Another thing I noticed, when I am playing the game, the temperature will hit like 64C or something for like a second and then come back to like 55 or 56...
It doesnt stay at that temp., it usually stays in the 50s. I will still reapply,

Just reapplied new thermal paste - Arctic Silver 5. Temperatures are a bit higher, 6-7C, but they seem to be dropping a bit, I think its the break in period.
