Hello,

I've connected the DVI cable from my motherboard to my GPU.
I've connected my 6+2 PCIe wires (from PSU) to my GPU.
I've tested the GPU in all three of my PCI slots on the motherboard. No luck.

Whenever I connect my DVI cable into my motherboard; I get video, but whenever I plug the DVI cable into the GPU; I don't. The GPU's fans are running and everything seems to be OK. While running Windows 8 from the DVI that is plugged into my motheboard, it shows me running Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and not my GPU (obviously).

Can someone tell me why I am not getting any video from my GPU? And there is no way I can get to my BIOS, because I accidentally disabled Internal Adapter and now I get no display while running the DVI into the motherboard.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87 UD5H
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC Edition w/ ACX
PSU: Corsair TX720M Bronze (enough power for SLI 780)
Monitor: ASUS 23" 60Hz 2ms (2013)

Solution
Yea thats why.

Take a 6 pin cable and have it occupy the first 3 columns, then an 8 or 6+2 for the others, you need both slots occupied to power it.
