I'm on my 3rd WD hard drive in the past 6mons. I started out with a Black WD 500gig it failed. Contacted WD they sent me a Black 1TB it was DOA. I then received a Black 2TB it lasted about 3-4mons. I run Windows 7 64bit, ASRock motherboard, XFX video card, 8gig of Kingston memory, LG Bluray player. I have it hooked up to my Yamaha amp and Samsung 60" TV I only use it for about 8-10hrs a week. Why are these drives failing? Should I be looking at different brand or a SSD?

Forgot CPU: AMD Athlon II x3 450 3.2Ghz
PSU: Codegen ATX 550watt

I've never heard of that PSU brand. But from what I see online, its not 80+ certified. I would suspect that first, try swapping for a more reputable brand and a minimum of 80+ certified Bronze. Corsair, Antec and OCZ are solid brands.
