Hi, I just built my first computer with windows 8 and it has a AMD HD 7950. The problem I am experiencing is when trying to install drivers and the catalyst control center via catalyst install manager, Windows gives an error part way through the installation and has to restart. The same thing happens whether I run the dvd included with the graphics card, or run the download off amd.

Upon restart, the error report lists these 3 files:

C:\windows\Memory.dmp

C:windows\minidump\082313-18859-01.dmp

C:\users\jeff\appdata\local\temp\wer-42687-0.sysdata.XML

As of now I have an older driver installed by going into the driver folder and clicking the .msi file itself. All other drivers are up to date, as well as windows updates. If anyone could help solve this problem it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
Try installing the Drivers using Compatibility. Rt click on the Setup.exe file and choose Troubleshoot Compatibility, again choose Troubleshoot Program, Failed etcetera, and then choose Windows 7 to test the program.
