Greetings,

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB drive that was working normally. I then decided to zero fill the drive using Seagate's program. That went well, when I went to format and initialize the drive, it is only showing 673 GB. I zero fill the drive again and came up with the same results. Windows Management is showing 673 GB and I am unable to extend the partition using that option. When I check the sectors, it is only showing 1.3 Million instead of the 1.9 Million sectors. Using the Seagate tools again, I did a short and long test and the drive is showing no errors. My OS is Windows 7 64 Bit. Appreciate any suggestions or advice provided! Thanks!!!

Figured it out. I guess for some reason, using my BlackX SATA dock to create the partition didn't give me the full capacity. I installed the HDD into my XP build and deleted/create the partition again. That did the trick as I am now showing what I should be getting from the 1 TB. Not sure if anybody else experienced this while creating a partition on the BlackX. I certainly never had this happened before and I've created partitions using the dock previously. Think it might be a combination of the HDD and the Dock. Don't know and don't care ... as long as it worked!
