Building a computer for a friend; Will this build be at least future-proof? or run games at Ultra?

He is not interested in overclocking in anyway so I don't think a good motherboard is mandatory for him, he just wants to run games at the highest settings while maintaining a decent amount of FPS on a 19" monitor.

It would be appreciated if you replied as soon as possible :)

Budget limit is $2000 might be increased if a better item is definitely worth it or will create a difference.

P.S.: The lower the price is, the better it is.. If you find anything not really important or is too high please inform.

Delta rocks .....made Antecs signature and CP series..... CP850 is best PSU for the money evah IMO ....10.0 jonnyguru rating, 850 watts and often under $100

but keep in mind, most often it's the seller who designs or "specs out" the PSU ..... it's then put out to bud to see whoi builds it.

What you left out is the fact that they also make some Antec PSUs and all XFX PSUs. However, this particular model has Delta as its OEM. It scores well according to Johnny Guru, but if you could find an XFX, SeaSonic or Corsair (non CX) for the same price or cheaper, that would be great.

Anyway, build looks good. Future-proof is subjective, it's not really possible in the technology world. However, this is a balanced build that should last him at least a good 3-4 years. Probably even more if he doesn't mind lowering graphics settings. I would change the HDD to this, though, it's cheaper (and arguably better): http://

good call on seasonic making different psu's, johnny guru knows what hes talking about but personally i do still reccomend a seasonic, as far as overall value is concerned.

Actually Channelwell makes about 2/3 of the Corsair PSUs. The TX series and HX series (750 and up) are mostly Channelwell, the AX series is made by flextronics, TXV2 series mostly Seasonic, as are small HX series
