PC Freezing While Playing Games

Hi,

Problem:
I have a somewhat rare problem with a PC I built about 8 months ago completely locking up while playing games. It might happen twice in a day or it might happen twice in a month. My screen completely freezes on the last frame it was on and I'm forced to hold down to power button. In event viewer, the only error I see is the forced shutdown. The first freeze I recall is maybe a month or two after I built it and it has just been going on ever since because I have no idea how to fix it.

I don't play too many video games (maybe 5-6 hours a week). The only games it has happened in are Starcraft II, Diablo III, Path of Exile and Dota 2, but that is mostly what I play.

The testing software I have tried so far are:
BurnInTest
Performance Test64
Prime95 (6 hours)
FurMark (15 mins)
MemTest86 (2.5 hours)

So far I have gotten no errors from any of these tests.

I watched my temperatures while running the tests and also while playing games for a few hours and nothing ever seems to get too hot. Most temperatures don't go over 50-70 C while playing games and the hottest while running tests was 70-90 C.

I have also reinstalled windows, which didn't help seeing as it froze 3 days later.

I updated every driver I could think of, but that didn't seem to help either.

I just reseated and checked my connections in my case, but I haven't played anything yet.

My specs:

What's your PSU?

EDIT: Also if you just reseated your hardware, then it might be a good idea to play some games and test it out first.

If it freezes and the light is completely off, it means there is something wrong on the CPU. You may want to pull it down to stock speeds. It may also be under voltage or over voltage that is causing your CPU to freeze.

Well I'm assuming by now after resitting everything you've tested out your games and you've had them freeze on you again? If so, and you're sure it's not because your cables in your PSU aren't sitting properly, it might be the power cables themselves. If you have any spares, try them. I wouldn't think it's a CPU issue due to passing 6 hours of Prime95 among other tests, but just incase I'm sure your temperatures for your CPU are fine under load, right? I've had a couple instances where my temps are higher in a game than when I use Prime95. Just in case, make sure you have hardware monitor or some monitoring software running.

I didn't overclock anything, so everything is default.

I don't have any spare power cables, but if it comes down to it then I can get some.

This is about 15 mins after playing about 3 hours of Dota 2. It didn't freeze at all, but it doesn't freeze every time I play something, so it's hard to test.

It froze again, so I can say now that the power light just stays solid. Unless there was something animated on the screen, you wouldn't be able to tell anything as wrong unless you tried to move the the mouse. There are no changes in lights and the sound just goes silent.
