LAN controller difference

Solution
So I was in a strange mood when I saw your question. There are extremely minor very technical difference that it is likely even if i spent my time to key in here you would not understand. You did not even understand most of the sarcasm involved in the answer I did provide.

So the clear answer is it doesn't matter you will never use anywhere close to 1g no matter what you do.
First question is how did you manage to get a gig of internet into your house for a price you can afford.

There are likely very small difference between these chips but they will not matter to your average home user. A much larger issue is related to the need to run jumbo frames to not hit other bottlenecks and jumbo frames are not supported on the internet.

This is like asking which car can go faster when you are driving in the school zone.

Jumbo frames are mostly an issue for certain enterprise cases. I get 968mb/s uni-directional and almost 1.5gb/s bi-directional with regular frames on my NIC.
