(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-08-23 23:04 EDT-0400) This is my first build trying to keep it around $900. I will be reusing Windows 7, optical drive, case, and maybe PSU if possible? That's the old one. I also don't intend on doing OC'ing and SLI/CF. Will only be playing WoW and BF4. I've decided to wait on buying the GPU until AMD releases their new line of cards and maybe I'll get their equivalent of the 760 or 760. Should I buy the monitor now? The $15 gift card promo ends at midnight PST. Or just wait it out and buy the parts first? I have a crappy 1600x900 monitor. Any reccomendations and suggestions are appreciated. Trying to stretch and save money as much as possible.

  1. I'd rather go with AMD GPU as BF4 would be optimized for AMD GPUs.

Consider HD 7950 at least, but your best bet would be HD 7970 or waiting for AMDs new Gen Cards.

I get 60+ FPS in BF3 on all maxed out with my 7950 though at a lower resolution(1440*900)

Well, with that build I'm sure you'll be able to get at least high on a 900p monitor.

If you are going to wait to buy a gpu when the new amd ones come out, I would also wait to buy a monitor. Black Friday/Cyber Monday (and the week prior) will have tons of deals on monitors and everything else.
  3. You might be pushing it with that gpu
  4. That GPU would be fine, but if you want a constantly smooth experience for only $40 more, get the AMD 280x. It will run better than a 770 in Battlefield 4. The 760 will be around the 40fps range while the 280x will give you more than 60fps.
