problems booting after building rig for my girlfriend

we ordered all of the parts a few days ago on newegg, specs: GTX 650 ti 2gb, 8gb ram (2 x 4gb Team Dark Series), i5 processor 3.1 ghz lga 1155, ECS p67H2-A2, Seasonic 750 watt power supply, cooler master elite case,

I assembled it and when I tried turning it on the fans spin for about a minute and it doesn't post, I figured we plug a monitor in because maybe it jumps right to bios - no display, I tried both sticks of ram individually, I unplugged everything except the heatsink, mobo, and case fan, still same result, I'm getting crazy because at first I thought it was the 12v connector that I forgot, but it isn't, any ideas what it could be? just hoping we didn't get some DOA parts.

Do you have the board sitting correctly on the motherboard standoffs? You need to have the 24 pin power connector plugged in and the 6/8 pin power connector connected to CPU (usually at the top of the board). Also, watch this video, your PC should boot if you follow this guy.

  2. I feel as though it's a hardware issue, I followed all of the instructions and did the same thing I did when I built my rig and my friend's rig, I think it's either power supply or RAM, idk about power supply, bc the heat sink and case fans both spin for a solid second before stopping, I feel as though it's the RAM
  3. It could be your mobo, you have a cheap board with a brand I am unfamilar with. Try another PSU if you have it, just to double check. I however doubt its the PSU. That board has several reviews on newegg stating a bunch of DOAs.
  4. thanks for the help guys, turns out I absentmindedly forgot to put the stand-offs in the case all along :X silly mistake haha
