so I do not think you have a real bottleneck. I think you are sitting just about perfect with your whole setup
agreed. Random youtube videos don't show you the full performance of a system.
@JoshuaHMB. Why not buy the 760 and upgrade mobo/cpu next year? the 760 will be solid for years to come but the 965 is getting near (not yet) the end of it's life cycle.
You don't need to upgrade, it depends a lot on the game. Depending on what games you play, you might see no difference at all, or a pretty significant one.
yep. if you are playing civ 5 or something really cpu intensive then maybe. your cpu is fine for 1080p gaming and the benefit you would receive will be very little and not worth the upgrade. save up and upgrade once the new ddr4 ram comes out and you can get an 8 core intel CPU then you will be set for another 5 years, hopefully. I fully expect my i5 2500k to last 5 years.
Hi, i am planning on buying a GTX 760 but i would like to know if i would need to upgrade my CPU, i currently have a Phenom II x4 965 BE @ 4GHz.
Your Phenom is actually bottlenecking your 760. It's a 6-year old CPU. What do you expect? Anyway, getting a 4670K would totally eliminate the bottleneck.

Thank you for your input, looking forward to getting my 760! Can anyone recommend a certain brand? Never bought a Nvidia card before.
MSI or Asus. They typically are the best for performance, cooling, and quietness. Check out the MSI 760 TwinFrozr. I love the TwinFrozr...own my second one now. Quiet and awesome.
EVGA is absolutely my favorite. there customer support is great and their cards have always overclocked really well and the cooling solutions are the best. So I do not think anybody does things better than EVGA. one of my favorite companies overall is Asus and they just came out with a new line of cards and is usually the case those who have made the most recent revisions also have the best options
so... Asus wins. check out this article and there are several others this new cooling option is really nice. Asus-DirectCU-II-Updated-Lineup, the asus direct CU cards have always been nice but the options they put into this one including fixing coil wine and everything else is amazing. the overclocks are fantastic
both of these cards by evga with around 60 reviews and they run a 95% rating for 4 or 5 stars. I still think nobody beats EVGA at their game. hell they make 9 different models of gtx 760
