Just some random topic popped in my mind. I remember reading somewhere that Amd dropped the topic of challenging Intel's performance and that they are letting intel be better.

Im not sure about "friends" but the reason amd is dropping it, in my opinion, is because they have too much on their plate. From what I have read and heard amd is shifting their focus to the apu series they have, which are superior to intel in that field. This is backed up by amd killing the fx series. Just my speculation.

AMD isn't letting Intel win, they're just legitimately ahead. Seeing as they're the only real players in the x86 CPU game, they're just as competitive as, say, Samsung and Apple in mobile.

If you are referring to the integrated graphic core, then in general, AMD integrated graphic cores are more powerful than Intel's integrated graphics cores. But it depends on which models you are referring to. In AMD's current generation of APUs (Richland) there are several graphic cores, not all are faster than the models offered in Intel's current generation CPUs (Haswell).
