Hi,
I just installed a new motherboard (ASUS P8Z77-V Pro)
When i start up my computer windows begins to boot then blue screens (driver error)
If i try to install the driver from the ASUS disk then it says Please insert Formatted Floppy Disk in /A
*Note Windows was already installed on my HDD

Solution
oh thats something, check what mode the sata ports are set to, if its set to AHCI or RAID set it to IDE mode, it could be that when you installed windows on your old board the SATA was set to IDE mode and not AHCI and windows will not boot if that option is set to AHCI and you did not either tweak windows to use it or install windows when it was enabled.

I tried what you suggest but it loads driver then stops at CLASSPNP.sys and blue screens

I've tried each stick of RAM and it still happens :(
And yes I did originally have a Intel Chipset on my old board

You sir, are a genius.
Thank you so much

it would also be better to tweak windows to use AHCI mode.

follow these instructions then change the bios setting back to AHCI when you restart.

1. Startup "Regedit
2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlset / Services
3. Open msahci
4. In the right field left click on "start" and go to Modify
5. In the value Data field enter "0" and click "ok"
6. exit "Regedit"

it is better to use AHCI mode even on a normal HDD as it enables command queuing and other helpful performance enhancers.
