I have just bought a new 7.1 4k sony reciever and energy take classic 5.1 speakers and i wanna hook up my htpc to the new reciever
My htpc has dual gtx 680"s in SLI but also has a soundcard. The soundcard is a Auzentech X-merdian 7.1 http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-meridian.php#xtension_din
Now my question is
1. is the soundcard using toslink optical better then using hdmi on my video card?
2. if i use soundcard and i connect optical cable from my htpc to reciever do i hook up the hdmi from my htpc's video card to the reciever for the video picture or do i hook the hdmi from my video card direct too my tv?
3. In the link i provided you can see the soundcards connections and the optical cable and adaptors that came with it but i lost them , so wich optical cable do i have to buy that fits proper? or if i get normal optical cable do i need adaptors like shown in the picture?
