Which CPU cooling for overclocking?

Hello. I'am gonna buy a CPU I can overclock atleast i7 4770k at 4.5 ghz. So I'am gonna find the cheapest and the best

. Since I can't use newegg.com, it makes it even harder. So please help me out.

I can choose between these:

NOCTUA NH-L12 CPU cooler
NOCTUA NH-L9a
NOCTUA NH-U9B SE2
THERMALTAKE Spin Q VT (CL-P0554)
THERMALTAKE Tt NIC F3 (CLP0605)
THERMALTAKE Tt NIC F4
Arctic cooling freezer 13
Arctic cooling freezer 7
Arctic cooling i30

So yeah. Which of these will be best to overclock with?

Why an i7? Do you need heavy mutithreaded applications? An i5-4670k will get you the same performance for a lot less money. The NH-L12 cooler is good, but for heavy OC the NH-D14 will perform better and more silent.

I wouldn´t take the Arctic stuff.
I´ve had an Freezer 13 and while that thing runs surprisingly silent and installation is dead simple, it won´t give you that much headroom for overclocking. I used it on an SB CPU, so this applies even more for Haswell.

None will really let you OC very much. Why don't you get an Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or Scythe Mugen 3 rev B PCGH? Those are very solid and proven coolers for a very reasonable price.

If that site shows prices in nok, you can get the best of coolers in that price-range:

- http://www.supersmart.no/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:2760430 is also a ruler, though somewhat less silent

Both will overclock the most and still keep chilly temperatures, so to speak

Okay, thanks. I think I will buy dark rock pro 2. But can you tell me if I can use all 4 ram slots if I buy it?

I can't buy it. The Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 blocks all RAM slots, so you can only use low profile RAM kits – nothing tall like Corsair Vengeance

As long as you don't go for extreme heatspreaders, that should work. It does with my Scythe Mugen, and that is a beast
