only 2 slot work form 6 slots

i have croser 1866 hz ram and i try evry slot and didnt work only the 2 in the midlll

help my pc is

MB: ASUS Rampage III Formula

CPU: Core i7 980X Extreme Edition

RAM : Corsair Vengeance 16 gb 1866hz

VGA: evga GTX 780 sc

Tour: Cooler Master Haf X

PS:GIGABYTE 800 watt


i have 16 gig of ram but only 8 work cuz the problem in my mob

As I said earlier the other slots has died so not working. And I don't think a BIOS update will make them work. Try a service center or a local tech they would diagnosis the actual problem. It happens sometime that couple of slots work and others don't, it is normal.
