Can I attach another router in my wife's office in another part of the house to my existing network. The provider uses the Zhone adsl2+ bridge/router ann. Which I connected to Belkin N750 trying to extend the range, but did not work. The office is to far away for the origination point. Can I plug another router in her office? If so do I have to get the router from the DSL provider or will most any router work? Is there a special configuration that needs to be done?
Thank you for any help.
You know a happy wife a happy life.:):)

it would be better to get powerline ethernet adapters and use those instead, plug one into one of the ports on your router and the other in the office for your wifes pc.

also if you use powerline ethernet adapters make sure to plug them directly into a wall socket and not into a surge protector at all or it will kill the signal.

you cant use 2 routers on the same phone line for 1 internet connection, the modem in the router and exchange are a 1 to 1 connection.
Not the way you want to do it. There can only be single dsl modem on a phone line. Although in theory you could use the wire in your house to run a private DSL you would need other equipment that is likely not cost effective.

Depending how new your house is and the kind of wire they ran the phones lines with you might be able to run normal ethernet over it. Even if the wire meets the quality you may have to get creative since it is unlikely the wires run directly between the 2 rooms.

Best option is to try powerline extenders. Just be sure you buy them from someplace you can return them. They tend to either work well or not work at all because of difference in electrical wires in peoples houses.

Thank you for the quick answer. I thought about that a while back. But the guy at Best Buy was not very confidant it would work. So I bought the wireless extender that you plug into the wall went through all the stuff configuring it to work and it is hit or miss. I will go and try the powerline extender I will look into maybe a netgear system I read about.

tplink make some nice resonably priced powerline ethernet adapters.

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WPA281-300Mbps-Wireless-Powerline/dp/B008IFXQDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377351360&sr=8-1&keywords=powerline+ethernet+tplink+wireless

even if you cant place the adapter directly in the office if you end up with no signal over the powerline adapters, this one is a really nice piece of kit as one of the adapters has wireless capability so you can place it close to the office and extend wireless coverage around the house and into the office, plug the normal adapter into the router and the other adapter closer to the office if the adapter does not get a signal over the power line in the office itself and setup the wireless connection on it to match your routers wireless.

this setup will work better than the wireless extender you have as it does not repeat the signal but uses your powerline as a direct link to your router for data and sends out its own wireless signal at the wireless adapter.
