Hai. I'm gonna buy myself a new GPU a GeForce GTX 660 to be exact. Which is PCIe 3.0, And my Motherboard that I have now only supports PCIe 1.0(http://www.msi.com/product/mb/GF615M-P33.html#?div=Deta...)
So I'm gonna have to buy a new Motherboard as well and I was thinking of http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX3/#overview , And now I'm wondering if my new GPU and the Motherboard will work together? If it helps answering the question I have a processor that is AMD Phenom II x4 on my motherboard now. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to compatibility. But I have seen you help many people on here with their questions so ill ask you one.
Thanks in advance /Caroline.

That m/b will work with the 660, but be advised that it does NOT support pcie 3. That said, pcie 2 will be fine as even high end cards really don't saturate pcie 2.

If you're not sure it'll fit, measure the distance between the PCI slot and the nearest obstruction (probably drive bays).

And if things look tight Zotac make some impressively compact Nvidia cards.
