Hello, I'm looking to build my first PC. It's my first, and I know for my price budget it's a substantial amount of money, but I'm hoping to not have to upgrade later on parts etc, and have a future proof high end gaming/video editing PC.

My budget is set on $3000. That is only hardware. No peripherals, like keyboard, mouse, etc.

I've already got my case, it's probably not the best but it was good for the price it's the Coolermaster HAF X full tower.

If anyone could help me out on parts etc, and keeping the prices in a $3000 budget would be great.

I'm also very new to the PC world, as stated above this is my first build.

Thanks.

Solution
Future proof doesn't exist, first rule :p. I will put something together in a moment.

Edit, how long can you wait? Because for editing Ivy Bridge E is interesting to wait on.

Thanks for the reply! A few things I forgot to mention is I'm located in Australia. And with the video editing part of my build, I'm new to it, but I'm hoping to get into maybe making games, Youtubing etc. so the editing/programming part is a big factor. But it's so hard with picking parts because I'm stubborn I want to be able to play games max etc. :p

What do you mean about waiting, do you waiting to purchase the build?

I'm very lost in the sandy bridge/ ivy bridge compartment lol. I'm new to PCing and I do have some knowledge, just not on motherboards.

I'm probably waiting around a month until I order. Just need a quote for some parts that I can run with.
