My mum and dad recently got there pc fixed from it running extremely slow I don't know what the computer shop did other then I know he put ram in and my dad asked him to clean it up d-frag ect. But since they have got it back they haven't been able to open any old files and its there business pc it just comes up with can not find program to open with or something like that any one got any ideas sorry its not a very detailed description but I haven't seen it my self its just what I have been told any help on it would be great I have suggested she have a look if the program's are still on the pc any got any other ideas

Solution
Either the file type association has been changed (Windows doesn't know which program to use to open the file), or the program itself has been deleted.
You'll need to find out exactly which file types won't open and see if the program they use is still installed on the computer.

Windows will usually ask you when it tries to open a file it doesn't recognize. You then need to navigate to the program you use to open it with. Exactly what files are we talking about - Word docs, Excel, ??

Once you've re-installed Photoshop and Office (Word), you will probably find that the files open okay without any further action.
