Hey guys, I'm stuck on what I could possible upgrade on my PC.

My current configuration is

Intel i5-3550 (I've been wanting to upgrade this for a while)
GTX 670

---I could upgrade to a GTX 780 and grab a new CPU which I want the Intel i7-3770k

OR

---I could solely grab a GTX 690 because alot of people have told me the 3550 wouldn't bottleneck anything.

I play alot of MMOs (Currently The Secret World and Guild Wars 2) but I do play alot of Shooter games as well! Can you guys shed some light and help me pick :)

Well I don't think you need to upgrade anything frankly.

i5-3550 + GTX-670 is pretty powerful for what you're doing. You shouldn't have any problem running the MMOs you mentioned. What resolution are you using?

It's just that upgrading to a i7-3770K might give you only a very small performance boost (so not a good bang for the bucks). The only thing the i7 has over i5 is hyper-threading and most games don't take advantage of it. This is why almost every gamers get an i5 quad-core instead.

Of course, a GTX-780 will perform better than a 670, but they're expensive. Do you have any problems with your 670? Do you have any game struggling? If not, I would wait a couple of years before replacing your current card.

I'm running 1920 x 1080 at 120hz :)

I was really thinking about just a more powerful GPU to keep my 120hz cap! That would be really awesome

1080p isn't considered a very high resolution anymore. So this is why a i5-3550 + GTX-670 is more than enough.

I also think 120Mhz monitors are a little bit of a scam. Apparently the human eye has trouble detecting movement above 60 FPS. And anyways, you probably already noticed that any game at 60 FPS appear very, very fluid to the eyes. Even if you could keep your FPS above 120 all the time not sure you would feel such a big difference. I mean, at best you could feel a very small difference maybe.
