I need to replace my old motherboard (ASUS P6T Deluxe), and I've been looking around and realizing that there aren't many options for boards compatible with my Intel Core i7-940 which is LGA 1366.

Do you think it would be best for me to just replace both my motherboard and CPU? - Ignoring cost of replacing both vs just mobo

I use my desktop mostly for gaming.

Any advice is appreciated :)

You could get a Rampage III Formula and an IO shield, or a 3820 and Sabertooth X79. The 3820 setup will show an increase in gaming, but overclocking the 940 is your best option.
