I've been playing a little bit with my new haswell pc and after being stable at 4.5ghz and 1.2 vcore I have a doubt. When using aida64 for example I can get temperatures above 80 degrees for short bursts of time even though most of the time it stays between 65-75 deg. But when I play gta iv for example I can only get one of the cores to hit 65 deg while the other ones stay around 60 deg. Are all these stress tests just like an unrealistic case to just see how a CPU can go or are there actual applications that can actually stress CPU this way? I just find it weird that there's such a difference between a CPU intensive game like GTA IV and benchmarking tests like aida64.

Those are just unrealistic stresses. I couldn't imagine using my CPU to that extent. But some would correct me and say that they can replicate the stress tests temps, but that's for them, and WE BOTH don't use our CPU that much. So your temps are safe bro.
