Hey guys!
I'm hoping to upgrade my graphics card from a HD 6570, to the HD 7870, maybe to a HD 7950. I'm really low on budget so I guess I won't have enough for new CPU.
Will my CPU bottleneck the HD 7870?
I have 4GB 1333 mhz, I'll upgrade to 8gb 1600mhz, maybe, I'm not even sure if I need that much of RAM. Also, I have 600w PSU. It's not known company or something.
I will play on 1920x1080 if that helps.
Thanks! :)

Hey, thank's for the fast answer!
And does the 7870 perform well at 1080p? I'm playing Battlefield 3 alot and will play even more on Battlefield 4.I got great titles on my Steam account(like Assassins creed 3, Bioshock Infinite and more) but sadly I cant enjoy the most of them.

Just wanted to add in that if your BIOS allows it you can maybe have the chance to unlock the l3 6mb cache in the cpu. I did and here is my video proof sorry for the noobish style of the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b56aPLI9a3A I ran this cpu with the l3 cache unlocked for quite a while and now a buddy bought it and runs it gaming with the l3 unlocked. There are some chip sets out in this model i understand that will not unlock anything though so good luck if you decide to follow this route. Oh and it took my Windows 7 score from 7.2 to 7.5 with that cpu.

I don't think I'll able to do that with my motherboard, I use the Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H.
I'm not a BIOS, or overclocking genius(hehe :3), so in simple words, will that give me better gaming performance? :C
Thanks! ;)

Just hit del or one of the function keys to get into the bios and acc or advanced core calibration is usually in the MB tweaker section basing this off my gigabyte am2+ board. Also there maybe a function called core unlocking during boot and post and usually has a button to activate like getting into the bios

If u feel like ur going to ruin something look up some videos on amd core unlocking and if u do mess up a setting or it doesnt boot pull the battery off the board for a few to reset the bios, it should boot again

To ur question a 3.2ghz x4 should be border line for a 7870, i only say this is that my friends 945 3.0ghz x4 bottlenecks a 5850 and found this out as the card in my system ran ultra on bf3 and with his he had to go to high preset, but either 7870/7950 for the cost is worth getting even for a small bottleneck

I disagree with the previous poster. If someone is not comfortable with OCing or unlocking L3 then I recommend they don't do it. It is time consuming, confusing, has the potential to go wrong and may cause instability. If the OP does not want to take those risks its understandable. I don't recommend it unless they are comfortable learning how to OC and OC properly. L3 stability still has to be tested. The L3 was disabled for a reason. It might be stable, but it might not be.

Anyways, thanks for all of you! you helped me alot and saved me dozens of money! Have a great week mates!

Yes it will give more performance, and in the BIOS its just a simple Enable Disable option, though its named different I have noticed on different mobo's, or on the board I used I could hit F4 to unlock cores which is what enabled the l3 cache

I agree as well only do what you're ok with doing never over reach your knowledge, until you have researched it, tested so on and so forth. It was stable under my circumstances and cooling, may not be under yours, and I should add I tested for a few days after I unlocked the l3 cache. I have played with OC'ing much higher speeds outta cpu, mem, and gpu but still dont go far for fear on my lack of knowledge. Google google google if its what you choose to do.
