Hey there fokes.
I just got the 7970 OC edition and was really looking forward to a consistent 60fps on ultra from the benchmarks I read.
However the game regually dips bellow 40fps on 64 man servers.
I have a AMD 8350, could this be the issue?
Any help much appreciated :)

Well considering I have a GTX 770, which is about equivalent to your 7970, and an AMD FX-6300 and I'm almost always rocking 60 fps at ultra on 1080p even with 64 man servers, I can't say it's because your hardware isn't powerful enough. What resolution are you playing at? And get something like MSI Afterburner and turn on the built in OSD while in game to check your GPU temperature and usage. Also, have you overclocked your CPU at all? Even if you haven't, make sure you have something like Hardware monitor and CPU-ID to check your frequency and your temperatures.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Im running at 1920x1080 and no I havent overclocked mainly because I dont have an after market heat sink :/ I dont know enough about over clocking to even try :p

I just came up with another possible idea. What's your motherboard? This may be due to an older PCIe slot (2.0 vs 1.0, you'd want the 2.0).

The motherboard shouldnt be the issue. Ive got an ASUS sabertooth 990fx. My power supply is 750w. When I did an MSI afterburner benchmark it said I was getting 100% gpu usage yet when I play games im not getting 100%. How do I ensure I get 100%?

Getting 100% in games doesn't matter necessarily. For example my GTX 770 when I play something modest like Battlefield 3, will run at something like 65% usage depending on what's being rendered on screen. However, I'm still getting 60 fps because I have V-Sync turned on. That means that after my Graphics Card begins rendering at 60 frames every second, it won't bother trying to work harder because I've already reached 60 and anything more would be unnecessary.

What I mean when I was talking about your motherboard is that you might have it plugged into the wrong slot? It's just a guess, but I know that doing that will cause a limit on your bandwidth even if it does properly fit into an older slot.
