What does 64 bit support mean on a Intel CPU.

I have a Pentium Extreme ED-965 (3.73GHz, rev C1) That says it has 64 bit support. It is running in a ASUS P5WDG2 WS. Will it run the 64 bit version of windows 8.

I have had 8 gig install since I started using this computer with XP 32bit. I only just realized most of the memory was not being used. Now I am going to get two SSD and setup a RAID 0 with window 8 64bit

I was not aware that there was issues like that with RAID, I'm surprised it is still talked about. Is it something that is a issue with SSD only. One of the reasons I thought about using it was that my motherboard only supports SATA II, and I wanted the increase in speed. Maybe it is not worth the possible problems.
